    Wellington Frame

The silhouette of this classic style was first released all the way back in the 1950s. Since then it had multiple periods of resurgence, in the 80s, late 00s, and again today, making it a truly timeless style.

The Wellington has revolutionized the world of sunglass fashion forever. Some of them are true icons, like the Ray-Ban Wayfarer, or the Oakley Frogskins.

    Premium lenses

All Shinzo Tamura frames feature premium polarized TALEX lenses, handmade in Osaka, Japan. The filter is designed to block 99% harmful UV rays - helping you keep your eyes healthy and see clearer.

    Perfect fit

The non-slip nose-pads are made from skin friendly elastomer, providing the perfect fit. Flexible titanium arms relief pressure, and give Shinzo Tamura frames a distinct and classic style.

The hinges are molded into the frame itself and benefit from the flexible and durable properties of the nylon material.

It’s nice to find brands that are still focussed on making quality product. I’ve always admired Japanese brands for their attention to detail and quality. This bread is no different. Although I never heard of them before, they seem to be backed by a company that has been around for 85 years!
I wen’t with this model/lens because I was looking for sunglasses that are great in snow. I know from my goggles that the right lens type can make a huge difference in the snow. But I don’t always want to wear full googles, especially for spring skiing.
These deliver a really crisp and clear views with the much needed contrast in the white snow. Know how you can’t tell if there’s a drop of not on a really bright day? With these lenses, the landscape really becomes much more readable and it’s quite a safety factor for me too.
Recommend these for anyone curios to try a specialized product! There are too many mediocre ones out there.

Bought these for skiing and winter hikes. Really good fit, light and sturdy, and just stick to my nose! They are also pretty amazing when it comes to contrast performance. But they are loosing some of their effect when it’s a little cloudy out, or towards the end of the day. And while they still deliver a pretty clear experience, the contrast performance is just not as strong anymore.
Nonetheless, I can highly recommend them for anyone looking for a solid pair of sunglasses for the snow. Especially when it’s really bright out.

Hi John, thanks for your review. You are right, the Amethyst lens excels when it’s really bright out! For those cloudy days or when the sun is low, we recommend our Copper lens. It’s balanced a little more towards adding some brightness and finding better contrast in shady spots.

Not cheap, but admittedly worth the money. These were featured on their home page and I loved how the lens color looked. Reading a bit more about them, I learned that this lens is made for contrast on bright days. And while I don’t ski or snowboard, I‘ve found that these lenses do exactly as advertised. The amount of sharpness and definition you get looking through these is really amazing!
They come with a nice case (leather) and cleaning cloth, and really feel premium. Will give these 5 stars, no problem.
