Designed as a homage to the classic Wellington style of the 50s. Forever made famous by the look of many Australian and Californian sunshades in the 80s and 00s, this Shinzo Tamura frame feels truly timeless.

Our Copper lens sharpens views while being gentle on your eyes. This lens suppresses reflections and reduces glare while significantly increasing contrast. Recommended for climbing, skiing, and hiking in alpine environments. Have a look at our lens guide.

This lens has a blue vacuum deposition mirror coating applied. Compared to our standard multilayer coating, visible light transmittance is reduced by about 5%, providing a clear view in high-glare environments.

Wellington Frame

The silhouette of this classic style was first released all the way back in the 1950s. Since then it had multiple periods of resurgence, in the 80s, late 00s, and again today, making it a truly timeless style.

The Wellington has revolutionized the world of sunglass fashion forever. Some of them are true icons, like the Ray-Ban Wayfarer, or the Oakley Frogskins.

Premium lenses

All Shinzo Tamura frames feature premium polarized TALEX CR39 lenses, handmade in Osaka, Japan. Our light purifying filter technology is designed to block 99% of harmful UV rays and reflective light - helping you keep your eyes healthy and see clearer.

Perfect fit

The non-slip nose-pads are made from skin friendly elastomer, providing the perfect fit. Flexible titanium arms relief pressure, and give Shinzo Tamura frames a distinct and classic style.

Light & durable

Shinzo Tamura frames are perfectly balanced, ultra light, and made from non-aging nylon material, perfect for an active lifestyle. The double-molded frames are flexible, extremely durable, and do not deform.

The hinges are molded into the frame itself and benefit from the flexible and durable properties of the nylon material.

I recently splurged on these premium Japanese sunglasses, and I have to say, they're worth every penny. What sets these sunglasses apart is the lens. Whether I'm skiing down the slopes or hiking in the mountains, this copper colored lens delivers exceptional clarity and contrast, making every outdoor adventure more enjoyable. The blue mirror coating makes the lenses look really cool, and they are also supposed to cut additional glare.

This must be the best mirror lens around! The blue tint on the copper lens is not only functional for glare reduction, but makes them look super interesting in the sun. The nylon frames are incredibly durable and lightweight, making them perfect for extended wear. Overall, these sunglasses are a must-have for outdoor enthusiasts looking for premium eyewear that delivers both style and performance. The hinges are not metal (which I typically like), but the benefits of enhanced clarity and reduced glare far outweigh any minor drawbacks.

Thanks for the feedback! We chose to design our frames with in-molded hinges for mainly two reasons: weight and durability. This is especially for our Ultralight series of frames.

I invested in these premium Japanese sunglasses, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Crafted with care in Japan, these sunglasses exude quality from the moment you put them on. The nylon frames are incredibly durable yet surprisingly lightweight, and the adjustable nose pads ensure a comfortable fit for all face shapes. I also love the blue mirror lens. They are incredibly clear.
